Dave Creamer is the Director of AML Solutions Delivery at Scotiabank, Dave began his AML career as an Investigator in Capital Markets, spent several years working in Model Development and is now tasked with standing up Scotia’s Transaction Monitoring, Name Screening and Customer Risk Rating programs. He has led initiatives to reduce false positive alerts throughout all AML monitoring while exploring the use of more indicators to better detect multi-staged patterns of behaviours indicative of financial crime. He has recently been working in the machine learning space to replace old ‘rules based’ scenarios with more dynamic machine learning based models, leading to a major increase in STR detection. Dave is a graduate of Schulich’s MBA program and has a previous work history in risk management and derivatives trading.
